Angina
Angina is a symptom. It’s a pain or an uncomfortable feeling when blood flow to your heart is reduced.
Arrhythmia
An arrhythmia, or abnormal heart rhythm, usually means your heart is beating too fast, too slow or irregularly.
Atrial Fibrillation
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a common abnormal heart rhythm or arrhythmia. It causes your heart to beat abnormally, which might feel like your heart is fluttering.

Coronary Heart Disease
Cardiovascular disease (CVD), also called heart and circulatory disease, is an umbrella name for conditions that affect your heart or circulation. These include high blood pressure, stroke and vascular dementia.
Heart Attack (Myocardial Infarction)
A heart attack is a medical emergency where there’s a sudden loss of blood flow to a part of the heart muscle. Without enough blood and oxygen your heart can be seriously damaged.
Heart Blocks (Atrioventricular Blocks)
A heart block happens when the electrical impulses that tell your heart when to beat are delayed or blocked as they travel through your heart. Some heart blocks won’t cause any symptoms, but others are more serious.
Heart Failure
Heart failure means your heart isn't pumping blood around your body as well as it should. It doesn’t mean your heart has stopped working.
Stroke
A stroke is a medical emergency. It happens when the blood flow to part of your brain is cut off. This can cause your brain cells to become damaged or die.
Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD)
Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) happens when blood flow to your legs is reduced because of narrowed or blocked arteries. It can cause pain, weakness, or numbness and may lead to serious complications if untreated.
Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)
Hypertension (high blood pressure) happens when the force of blood against your artery walls stays too high over time. It often has no symptoms but can damage your heart, kidneys and blood vessels if left untreated.
Hyperlipidaemia (High Cholesterol)
Hyperlipidaemia (high cholesterol) happens when there are too many fats in your blood. It usually has no symptoms but can lead to serious problems like heart attacks or strokes if not managed.
Myocarditis
Myocarditis happens when your heart muscle becomes inflamed, often after a viral infection. It can cause chest pain, tiredness, or breathlessness and may lead to heart problems if not treated.
Pericarditis
Pericarditis happens when the thin sac around your heart becomes inflamed. It often causes sharp chest pain and can lead to fluid build-up or other heart problems if not treated.
Mitral Valve Disease
Mitral valve disease happens when the valve between the heart’s left chambers doesn’t open or close properly. It can cause breathlessness, tiredness, and heart rhythm problems if not treated.
Aortic Valve Disease
Aortic valve disease happens when the valve between the heart and the aorta doesn’t open or close properly. It can cause chest pain, breathlessness, or fainting and may lead to serious heart problems if untreated.
Palpitations
Palpitations are feelings that your heart is beating too fast, too slow, or irregularly. They’re often harmless but can sometimes be a sign of an underlying heart problem.
Tachycardia
Tachycardia is when your heart beats faster than normal while at rest. It can be harmless in some cases but may also signal an underlying heart condition that needs treatment.
