Dr Wong's Story

Dr Wong attended Trinity College, Dublin. After graduating, he worked across multiple cities in Dublin, Birmingham, Guildford, and finally in London at the Imperial College NHS Trust - with other clinics at Charing Cross and Hammersmith Hospitals. At Guildford, Dr Wong completed his postgraduate degree with a project on insulin stimulation in patients with peripheral vascular disease which sparked his interest in lipidology and atherosclerotic vascular disease. His main clinical expertise is in Lipids and Lipidology (the study of Cholesterol and Triglycerides).  Alongside this, Dr. Wong also specialises in the assessment of cardiovascular risk factors,  especially with regard to high blood cholesterol levels.


Currently, Dr. Wong is a Consultant Lipidologist practicing at Kingston Hospital NHS Trust. He founded the Lipid clinics at Queen Mary’s Hospital, Roehampton, and Kingston Hospital. He has a wealth of experience in managing patients with raised Cholesterol or Lipid levels and has written on the subject in various different papers including contributing to chapters in textbooks, and other publications as well as giving lectures on this topic.
