Heartsure provides tailor made Cardiac Rehabilitation and Prevention Programmes for people who have suffered from or are at risk of heart disease.
Tom Hastings RGN is the founder of Heartsure. He is a Registered Nurse and qualified exercise instructor who has worked in cardiology for over 10 years. Having trained at St Thomas’s Hospital, London he went on to set up the cardiac rehabilitation service at Watford General Hospital. His current NHS post is as Clinical Nurse Specialist in Cardiology at Kingston Hospital, London.
Having seen the limitations of the rehabilitation and prevention programmes run within the NHS, Tom felt that patients were missing or unable to access the care and help they needed. He founded Heartsure to provide patient specific programmes which are flexible to both their individual needs and busy lifestyles.
Tom is married with two young children. Despite a busy life he is a keen sportsman who has played rugby and water polo for his county, but more recently has become involved in triathlons and completed a half ironman.
I have a personal passion for Cardiac Rehabilitation (CR) because my father suffered from a heart attack aged 48, resulting in a Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG). I therefore know, not only from professional but personal experience, the importance of CR and the difference it can make to people’s lives.
I have had excellent feedback from all the patients I have referred to heartsure.’
